All Porcelain Crowns
A porcelain crown is a tooth-shaped “cap” that is placed over a tooth to restore its shape, size, strength or improve its appearance. When cemented into place, the crown will fully encase the visible portion of a tooth and match the shade of your surrounding teeth. Porcelain crowns are typically used to protect a weak or cracked tooth, remedy severe discoloration, support a tooth with a large filling, hold a dental bridge in place or cover a dental implant. The procedure requires two visits with the dentist: the first to prepare the tooth and make a molded impression and a second (usually within 2 weeks) to permanently place the crown.
Bonding/Fillings
dental fillings. They are made of strong, durable plastic resin that comes in over 30 shades to match the complexion of your teeth. When the resin is applied to the tooth, it is hardened with a special light and permanently bonded. The procedure is among the easiest and least expensive options for repairing damage, covering discoloration, closing spaces or changing the shape of your teeth. Dental fillings do have limitations though and may best be suited for small cosmetic changes. Dr. Mower will consult patients on their options and make recommendations based on each case.
Tooth Whitening
Tooth whitening is a popular procedure to make teeth whiter and brighter. Also known as bleaching, it is a simple, non-invasive dental treatment used to change the color of natural tooth enamel and is an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile. The procedure is safe, easy to use and affordable.
Teeth will darken over time. Changes in the color of your teeth can be caused by a variety of sources, such as: Age, Coffee, Tea, Soda, Red Wine, Tobacco, Some medications. Restoring your natural white smile is a priority for our dental team. We can provide some options for whitening your smile.
Tooth whitening services are growing in popularity, and it’s one of the most requested services offered by our practice. The most popular method used in our office is using a take home tooth whitening system. This will whiten your teeth dramatically. Because tooth whitening only works on tooth enamel, it is important for us to evaluate replacement of any old fillings and crowns. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth. In addtion to the take home tooth whitening system, we now offer in office whitening. Veneers
A veneer is a thin shell of restorative material (porcelain or composite) placed on the front side of a tooth to improve the appearance of your smile or protect a damaged surface. Veneers create a bright, white, perfectly aligned look and are most appropriate for more severe cases of discoloration, wear, chipping, uneven teeth and abnormal spacing. Typically lasting 10-30 years, the expected lifespan of your veneers can be heavily influenced by the way you take care of them. Always practice good home care, avoid exposing your teeth to excessive forces and minimize staining influences.
Smile Makeovers
A smile makeover is exactly that. Depending on a patient’s dental issues, one or more procedures may be performed in order to achieve a beautiful, healthy smile: each case is different.
